Pre-Draft Team Needs: Tennessee Titans

The Titans will continue to build their roster from both sides of the ball through the draft.

Players Added

Chris Simms/QB - He'll man the third spot on the quarterback depth chart.

Jason Babin/DE - The former Philadelphia Eagle did a nice job last season in a limited role. He'll have a chance at more playing time with the Titans.

Jay Moore/DE - He was drafted in 2007 as an outside linebacker by the San Francisco 49ers.

Will Witherspoon/LB - He struggled a bit with the Philadelphia Eagles last season, but Witherspoon figures to start at WLB for the Titans.

Tye Hill/CB - The former first-round pick of the St. Louis Rams will get another chance to revive his career.

Players Lost

Alge Crumpler/TE - With Crumpler gone, the team will get a better look at second-year TE Jared Cook.

Kevin Mawae/C - The team has interest in re-signing him, but only as a backup. Eugene Amano is slated to start.

Craig Hentrich/P - He announced his retirement recently. The team signed two untested punters to compete for the job.

Kyle Vanden Bosch/DE - The veteran defensive end signed a lucrative free agent deal with the Detroit Lions. The Titans probably will look to replace him with a high draft selection.

Jevon Kearse/DE - He appears to have little left in the tank.

Keith Bulluck/LB - Witherspoon was signed it appears to replace him. Bulluck has not received a lot of interest in free agency probably because he's coming off of a torn ACL.

Nick Harper/CB - The veteran cornerback is not expected to re-sign with the team.

Kevin Kaesviharn/S - The journeyman defensive back fits in as a fourth safety.

Pre-Draft Team Needs

Defensive End - With Vanden Bosch gone, the Titans simply have no proven pass rushers left on their current 80-man roster. Defensive end has to be addressed early.

Cornerback - With Harper unsigned and unlikely to return, the team has to replace him in the starting lineup.
