Ochocinco fined $25,000 for tweeting

Chad Ochocinco loves to tweet, but the NFL has rules against doing it before or after games. Now he'll have to pay up for posting last Friday against the Eagles.

Maybe this Twitter thing is just a little too addicting for Chad Ochocinco.

The Cincinnati Bengals receiver was fined $25,000 by the league office on Tuesday for violating its policy against using an electronic device for social media.

Actually, Ochocinco violated two NFL policies – using an electronic device and posting messages on a social media site during a prohibited period. Players aren't permitted to use electronic devices to post messages 90 minutes before kickoff and until postgame media obligations are completed.

Ochocino was nailed for tweeting twice during the prohibited period last Friday against the Philadelphia Eagles. His first posted message, at 6:50 p.m. ET: "Just talk with Kelly Washington , Desean Jackson, Geoff Pope, Hank Baskett and I caught a ball from Mike Vick, I love prw-game warm up." His second, at 9:53 p.m. ET: "Man Im sick of getting hit like that, its the damn preseason (expletive)! 1day I'm gone jump up and start throwing hay makers"

His Twitter followers know Ochocinco as a prolific tweeter. He's posted more than 19,700 messages on the site. Makes you wonder if the small hit to his bank account will slow him down.
