The Houston Texans have signed free agent defensive tackle Jerrell Powe who formerly played for the Kansas City Chiefs. Powe was drafted by now Texans defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel while he was in Kansas City as the defensive coordinator.
Powe was drafted in the 6th round (199th overall) out of Ole Miss in the 2011 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 12 games in three seasons where he has 6 total tackles, 1 sacks and 1 pass deflection.
At 6-2 and 331 lbs. Powe is the first sign that the Texans defensive line will have a completely different look in the 3-4 defense with bigger players.
