The Houston Texans have released corner back Brice McCain before the start of free agency. McCain was a 6th round pick in 2009 out of Utah and a appeared in 72 games for the Texans.

McCain was resigned before the 2013 season when he was going to hit the free agent market to a three-year deal. He has five career interceptions for the Texans and primarily played the nickel corner position for the defense.

McCain had a cap number of $1.75 million and will have a savings around $900k with his release.
