Coach Bill O'Brien held to his word and updated that Brian Hoyer is in the final stage of the concussion protocol and will remain the Texans starting quarterback. Hoyer has been out the past two weeks from his second concussion this season he suffered this against the New England Patriots. He also came out of that game with a strained neck and injured wrist after taking a beating from the pass rush.
Even with Brandon Weeden’s strong day against the Tennessee Titans, this is Hoyer’s team to control until the season in finished. Hoyer on the season has thrown for 2,357 yards with 18 touchdowns and 6 interceptions while completing 60.5% of his passes.
The Texans face the Jacksonville Jaguars in week 17 to possibly seal the AFC South title in Houston.
