Houston Texans starting quarterback Brian Hoyer has been cleared from the concussion protocol and is set to start on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Texans are one win away, or with some help from other teams, from winning the AFC South title.
Hoyer has missed the past two games due to a concussion (plus strained neck and wrist injury) he suffered against the New England Patriots. It was Hoyer's second concussion of the season but coach Bill O'Brien has made it clear that Hoyer is the starting quarterback for the Texans. He returned last week and practiced with the team but on a limited basis to get him ready for his return this week.
Hoyer on the season has thrown for 2,357 yards with 18 touchdowns and 6 interceptions while completing 60.5% of his passes.
