Texans Dismiss Three Assistant Coaches

The Houston Texans have started making moves and it started with the coaching staff.

The Houston Texans have dismissed three assistant coaches from the 2015 coaching staff at the start of the off-season. The Texans moved on from:

  • Special teams coordiantor Bob Ligashesky. Hired by Gary Kubiak in 2013 as the assistant special teams coordiantor and was the lead coach for over a season and a half. The Texans continued to rank on the bottom of the NFL is numerous special teams categories.
  • Wide receiver coach Stan Hixon. Hixon arrived with O'Brien from Penn State two seasons ago when he held the same position at Happy Valley. Hixon coached probably the most disappointing position group for the Texans outside of DeAndre Hopkins. The group was plauged with drops all season and lack of development from their two younger receivers Keith Mumphery and Jaelen Strong.
  • Defensive assistant Anthony Pleasant. Pleasant helped as the assistant defensive line coach for the past two seasons. Playing under Romeo Crennel in New England, Pleasant was a side hand for the season.
