Houston Cougars' Elandon Roberts Highlights Texas Area NFL Draft Prospects Headed to the NFLPA Bowl

University of Houston's Elandon Roberts highlights the NFL prospects that played college football in the state of Texas for the upcoming NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

The NFLPA announed the full rosters for the 5th annual NFLPA Collegiate Bowl presented by Fanactics to be held on January 23rd. Eight NFL draft prospects from Texas universities will be playing in the game, most notably University of Houston's Elandon Roberts and Texas Christian's Trevone Boykin. 

Roberts helped the Cougars to a Peach Bowl win over Florida State leading one of the top team's in the nation. Starting 13 games, Roberts had 142 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 6 quarterback sacks, five passes defensed and one intereception.

The game will take place on January 23rd at the StubHub Center on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills. Mike Holmgren (American) and Mike Martz (National) will be the head coaches for the game 

The fifth-annual NFLPA Collegiate Bowl – the only game for the players, by the players – is scheduled for a 3 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET kickoff and will air nationally on ESPN2. In addition, American and National Team practices on January 20 and 21 will be televised live on ESPNU. The game and practices will also be available via WatchESPN.

The NFLPA Collegiate Bowl experience is much more than a game for the participating players. For one week, participants will receive an in-depth introduction to their future union. The NFLPA, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2016, is the primary resource for players for information on the business of football and how to succeed in the NFL and in their post-football careers. The all-star game will also feature health and safety measures, such as sideline neurologists, that the NFLPA has made a priority.
