Houston Texans Trying to Land Anthony Weaver

Cleveland Browns defensive line coach Anthony Weaver is a potential match for the current opening on the Houston Texans staff.

With Paul Pasqualoni stepping down as the Houston Texans defensive line coach, attention has now turned to Cleveland Browns defensive line coach Anthony Weaver. Weaver also played for the Houston Texans from 2006-2008 before heading to the college coaching ranks. Weaver has coached at the Universtiy of Florida (graduate assistant), University of North Texas (linebackers), New York Jets (assistant defensive line coach), Buffalo Bills (defensive line coach) and the Browns for the past two season. He has worked for some top coaches in the profession in Urban Meyer, Rex Ryan, Doug Marrone and Mike Pettine.

There is some reason to believe, with Weaver's name emerging, the focus will be on landing him for the 2016 coaching staff as the new defensive line coach.

If Weaver does come to Houston, it will mark the thrid defensive line coach for the Texans under Bill O'Brien in three seasons.
