The Houston Texans Meet With Nick Vannett at the Senior Bowl

The Houston Texans have met with fifth-year senior tight end Nick Vannett at the Senior Bowl.

The Houston Texans have arrived to the 2016 Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, and have started gathering more information on NFL draft prospects.

The Texans met with Ohio State University tight end Nick Vannett, who is a fifth-year senior. Vannett (6’6", 260 lbs.) appeared in 40 games during his first three seasons with the Buckeyes and had three starts in that stretch.

In 2016, Vannett appeared in 10 games, totaling 19 receptions for 162 yards, while missing three games due to injury. Expectations were high for Vannett, who was finally going to get his opportunity to start after Jeff Heureman was drafted by the Denver Broncos.

Although he was not utilized much in the passing game by the Buckeyes, Vannett is still considered a mid-round section given his versatility to line up at H-Back, inline tight end, and split out as a receiver.
