Texans Meet With Jarran Reed at the Senior Bowl

The Houston Texans met with Alabama's Jarran Reed at the Reese's Senior Bowl.

The Houston Texans met with Alabama defensive end Jarran Reed at the Senior Bowl. Reed (6’3”, 311 lbs.) played mostly defensive tackle (3-technique) for the Crimson Tide but showed enough versatility at the Senior Bowl to move to a 5-technique, which is a defensive end in a 3-4 defense.

Reed, who played in 2015 for the national champions, appeared in 15 games, totaling 57 tackles with 1 sack and 4.5 tackles for loss. In that season, Reed was selected to the second team All-SEC by the Associated Press.

With the potential departure of long time Texans defensive end Jared Crick who is set to be a free agent, the team is keeping a close eye on young defensive line personnel coming out in the 2016 NFL draft.
