During the Senior Bowl, the Houston Texans met with former Penn State defensive end Carl Nassib. Nassib played for Bill O’Brien at Penn State and the two became reacquainted in a meeting in Mobile, Alabama.
Nassib had a solid senior season for the Nitanny Lions, notching a school record 15.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss which led to him being named Big-10 Conference Player of the Year. The big defensive end checked in at 6'7" and 273 lbs. at the Senior Bowl, and the jump he took entering his last season at Penn State has caught scouts' eyes.
With the Texans possibly looking for defensive end help as starter Jared Crick hits free agency, Nassib could be a potential fit down he road if the team can land him in the NFL Draft.
