Texans To Part Ways with Jonathan Grimes Making Him a Free Agent

The Houston Texans will non-tender Jonathan Grimes making him a free agent for 2016.

The Houston Texans are moving on from restricted free agent Jonathan Grimes making him a free agent. The two camps were working on a potential deal but nothing could be agreed upon, allowing both sides to move on. 

Grimes was originally signed by the Texans as a rookie free agent in 2012 out of William and Mary. Since that point, he has spent time with the New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars, and had two stints with the Texans. In 2015, Grimes posted career bests with 58 rushes for 282 yards and 26 receptions for 173 yards and two total touchdowns. He also set a career high with 5 yards per carry.
