The Houston Texans Have Tendered A.J. Bouye

The Houston Texans have placed a tender on restricted free agent A.J. Bouye.

The Houston Texans have placed a $1.671 million tender with rights of first refusal on restricted free agent, A.J. Bouye. Bouye has been a slow riser in his three seasons with the Texans, but has shown improvement over his time with the Texans organization.

Appearing in 29 games the past two seasons, Bouye has already garnered attention from teams across the NFL with the tender being placed on him. In 2015, Bouye had 16 total tackles with 2 interceptions and six pass deflections. 2014 was his breakout year, primarily playing the third cornerback in nickel and dime, totaling 59 tackles with 3 interceptions and 10 pass deflections. Bouye has size and length plus game experience, which is important in a league that is searching for cornerbacks. There is a good chance Bouye will be offered a deal from another team, allowing the Texans to match if they opt to.

Bouye arrived to the Texans in 2013 as rookie free agent out of Central Florida.
