With free agency in full swing, the Houston Texans coaching staff and scouts are staying on the NFL draft trail. On the opening day of free agency, head coach Bill O’Brien flew to Madison Wisconsin to attend the Badgers Pro Day and, according to reports, O’Brien met with Badgers quarterback
At 6’5”, 236 lbs., Stave started 41 career games for the Badgers where the team finished 31-10.
In three full seasons as the Badgers starter, Stave threw for 7,635 yards with 48 touchdowns and 37 interceptions. Stave leaves Madison as the second all-time leading passer in Badgers history. His 22-6 mark as a quarterback starting in Big Ten games is the highest winning percentage in Wisconsin history.
Stave is considered a day three prospect in the NFL draft and, with the recent acquisition of Brock Osweiler, and presence of third-year quarterback, Tom Savage, the Texans will be looking to the draft to fill out the depth chart.
