The Houston Texans have moved on to their second phase of free agents and they will be more cost effective compared to the four they signed to start off the new league year. The Texans are hosting free agent safety Antonio Allen who was with the New York Jets in 2015.
Allen (6-2, 210 lbs.) was drafted in the 2012 NFL draft out of South Carolina in the 7th round (242nd overall). Allen tore his Achilles in training camp and was waived injured and then was placed on the Jets injured reserve for the entire 2015 season.
Appearing in 38 games since 2012, Allen started 18 of those games totaling 110 tackles with 13 pass deflections and 1 interception.
The Texans are in the market for safety depth and Allen could come at the low cost they want to fill out there roster with.
