Houston Texans quarterback Brock Osweiler is starting to stake his claim as the focal point of the offense and maybe the organization. With OTAs starting in July, Osweiler is working to plan and organize workouts with fellow teammates in Arizona prior to the team reporting to Houston.
Osweiler is setting up workouts with the offense to get a head start on getting to know his teammates and work on timing with his throws. This is a good start for Osweiler’s tenure with the Texans showing that he is ready to take the lead as the team’s starter.
Add this with the fact he contacted teammates after signing his deal with the Texans that he was ready to get to work with them. Osweiler is taking a step in the right direction gaining trust from his teammates and the organization.
Speaking of quarterbacks.
Coach Bill O’Brien mentioned that Tom Savage has a chance to be the backup quarterback in 2016. The one thing standing in Savage’s way is that O’Brien says that, "Right Now." Brian Hoyer is the number two quarterback for the Texans
There was trade talk surrounding Hoyer during the start of free agency but that has since died down with the offseason progressing. It will be a situation to monitor moving forward for the Texans as they start to set their quarterback depth chart.
