The Houston Texans have selected safety K.J. Dillon in the 5th round with the 159th overall selection in the NFL Draft. Dillion had to step into a bigger role his final season with West Virginia after Karl Joseph went down with an ACL injury. Dillion answered the bell and finished the season with 55 tackles, 7,5 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions and eight pass breakups.
An All-Big 12 section, Dillion (6-0, 210 lbs) started his career as a special team cog and reserve safety as a true freshman. Dillion became a full time starter as a junior making 62 total tackles, three interceptions and seven pass breakups.
Dillion adds some depth to an already crowded safety group but the value the Texans were able to land a safety of his caliber to improve their depth.
