D.J. Reader and the Houston Texans Agree to a 4-Year Deal

The Houston Texans have signed rookie free agent D.J. Reader to a 4-year deal.

The Houston Texans have signed rookie nose tackle D.J. Reader to a four-year deal getting him signed before rookie mini-camp starts this weekend. Reader was selected in the 5th round with the 166th overall selection out of Clemson. Reader's deal is worth $2.55 million over four-years and has a  $215,380 signing bonus.

 

Reader appeared in 25 games for the Clemson Tigers and was a solid force in the middle of their defense. In 2015, Reader had 13 tackles, .5 sacks and 1.5 tackles for loss. For his career Reader had 72 total tackles with 9 tackles for loss and four sacks. Before the start of the 2015 season, Reader left the team due to the passing of his father and appeared nine games into the season. After being a key reserve his sophomore  season, Reader is the a perfect fit for a nose tackle in the Texans defensive scheme. 

Texans will hold a rookie mini-camp this weekend from May 6th - May 8th.
