Entering his third season with the Texans, Jeoffrey Pagan has been a bit of a mystery. A draft pick in Bill O’Brien’s first year as a head coach, Pagan has been used sparingly the past two seasons. Pagan is a defensive end by trade but can help at nose tackle if needed. Appearing in all 16 games his rookie season, Pagan fell out of favor and only appeared in six games in 2015.
With the Texans looking for defensive end depth, Pagan will get a fair look this upcoming season. Seeing how the team uses him early will be the key indicator on his future with the organization. He showed some life his rookie season, while last season, he was not involved enough to get a good look at him. Pagan will have to come out strong in training camp to get the looks at defensive end that he needs.
Pagan has a chance to be on the team for the third season due to his versatility. Cracking the on the field rotation will be the next step for him.
