Benardrick McKinney's started off with a knee injury and concussion to began his NFL career. When McKinney came back and the Texans plugged him into the lineup, the defense took a step in the right direction. McKinney proved to be a smart pick in the second round of the 2015 NFL draft and he gave the team solid returns with the snaps he played.
McKinney returns to team with Brian Cushing as the starting inside linebackers. His feel and instincts for the game are off the charts for a young player, especially considering the complexities of being an inside linebacker in the NFL. His role will expand and he is clearly the future of the position. McKinney is a rare combination of size and speed, and add in the fact this off-season he has added some NFL muscle, McKinney is primed for a season to watch.
