It was the first season in a while that Brian Cushing had a chance to concentrate on training for football and not rehab and injury. Being the Texans three down linebacker, Cushing got stronger as the season went on and ended up leading the team in tackles for 2015. It was a bounce back season for Cushing and helped become a center piece of a top five defense for the Texans.
Cushing enters a season without an off-season with a surgery to rehab and early in the off-season, he looked solid on the field. The Texans leader in the middle came into camp in the best shape he has been in since then two knee injuries. Cushing will be depended on to continue to help bring along Benardrick McKinney as the future of the defense. Cushing has plenty left in the tank and is matter of him putting it on the field.
Starting inside linebacker.
