The Texans right tackle for the past four seasons, Derek Newton was rewarded with a new contract at the start of last season. It was an up and down season for Newton, especially after an impressive 2013 season. Newton continually worked to get in top shape heading to his contract year but there was clear step back in play in 2014.
Newton returns as the teams starting right tackle and he is going to have to put in work to have a bounce back season. Newton is even more important with the changes that have taken place along the offensive line. He has shown that he can play at a high level and with new guard Jeff Allen playing next to him, there will have to be an accelerated work with each other to get ready for the season.
