2016 Houston Texans Player Profile: Tony Bergstrom

A closer look at the Houston Texans roster heading into the 2016 training camp.

Brought to the Texans on the first day of free agency, Tony Bergstrom was an instant safety net for the departed Ben Jones. Bergstrom played as a key reserve for the Oakland Raiders where he took snaps at offensive guard and center. Bergstrom is an athletic player that the Raiders were reluctant to lose to the Texans but his versatility fits into what the Texans look for in their players.

Bergstrom will be in direct competition with Nick Martin at the center position when training camp opens up. His value lies in providing key depth on the interior of the offensive line. He might be better suited for the spot starter and back up role with the Texans, he has what the offense needs. Starter experience, versatility and athleticism as a player.

Roster Situation

On the 53-man roster. Top reserve on the interior of the offensive line and can start when needed.
