The Houston Texans opened up the checkbook to land the top running back on the market in Lamar Miller. Miller is an explosive player when he gets the ball in his hands and he made the Dolphins a dangerous team with him out of the backfield. He showed flashes of the home run hitting ability as a zone player with the Dolphins. When the Dolphins made a coaching change, they made Miller play as more than a zone back, which showed he has more room to grow in the running back position.
Miller will be depended on to make it happen for the offense and he will be used on both the ground and in the air. He will be a focal point of the Texans offense and could be used much like Arian Foster was in his first season with Bill O’Brien in 2014. Teamed with Brock Osweiler, Miller is now a breath of fresh air for an offense that has been searching for speed and a dependable back.
