Texans Training Camp: Christian Covington In the Concussion Protocol

After leaving practice early, Houston Texans defensive end Christian Covington is in the concussion protocol.

NFL training camp always bring injuries and the Houston Texans have had their share to start of the first week of training camp. Defensive end Christian Covington had his practice cut short prematurely on Thursday and was under the canopy until taken into NRG Stadium by staff. Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle is reporting that Covington is now in the concussion protocol after yesterday.

Covington is expected to figure into a defensive line rotation that is looking for some stability especially with J.J. Watt currently on the PUP list. The Texans have turned to Covington to take majority of the work on the defensive line since the start of camp and now with the concussion the team will have to re-evaluate.

Drafted in the 6th round out of Rice, Covington appeared in 15 games totaled 8 tackles with 2 sacks last season.
