It was clear that when rookie free agent tight end Stephen Anderson arrived to the Houston Texans from Cal, he belonged. Anderson was informed that he made the 53-man roster rounding out the depth chart with C.J. Fiedorowicz and Ryan Griffin.
http://www.scout.com/nfl/texans/story/1702243-texans-start-moves-to-the-...Anderson showed he has a place in the offense and creates some match up problem from the tight end position. This preseason, Anderson had 4 receptions for 34 yards and a touchdown to lead the tight group in all three categories. It is clear that he will be a vital piece of the offense and put a threat to catch the ball at the tight end position.
Anderson had a draftable grade by the Texans but ran out of picks during the 2016 NFL Draft. 90 selections passed which included six tight ends before the conclusion of the draft. Things worked out and Anderson was one of the first free agents for the Texans to sign after the draft.
