In one of the better starts to a season for a rookie playing for the Houston Texans, what Will Fuller V did in his debut turned some heads. Fuller caught five passes for 107 yards and a touchdown which helped give the Texans another dimension on offense.
With his solid start to the season, Fuller is convincing in his stance that this is who he is on the field. Confident in his own ability, Fuller knew what he was capable of even before his solid performance.
“I always play with confidence, so I wouldn’t say it’s a confidence booster but it was definitely good for me,” Fuller stated.
Fuller knows he has work to do and some more improvements will be made to his game. He is well aware of a crucial drop that he had in week one, and also acknowledges his issues in the run game, helping block on the second level.
“A lot to get better at,” said Fuller of where he needs to develop. “Definitely a lot to get better at.”
Fuller continued, “Not only in the passing game, but the running game too. Coaches always do a good job of keeping you from being complacent and keeping you moving forward.”
Despite all of the attention turned his way after his week one performance, Fuller is staying grounded and not getting too caught up in all of the discussions taking place around him. Fuller credits his family for making him staying cool, calm, and collected.
“I would probably say my family, just the way I was brought up. I’ve always been the same guy,” said Fuller with a straight face.
“Yeah, this is just me.”
