Don Jones Signed To The Houston Texans 53-Man Roster

The Houston Texans have signed safety Don Jones to the 53-man roster.

The Houston Texans are busy trying to adjust their roster on the fly and have signed free agent safety Don Jones to the 53-man roster.

Jones (5-11, 191 lbs.) was a 7th round pick out of Arkansas State in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. Appearing in all 16 games his rookie season, he had 10 tackles with a forced fumble. Jones has spent time with the New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints and the past two seasons with the Cleveland Browns. Jones appeared in four games for the Browns with just one tackle in 2016.

Jones was one of three defensive backs brought in on Tuesday that the Texans worked out to fill voids in their roster. With injuries to K.J. Dillon and Kevin Johnson that will land them on the injured reserve, the Texans had to find help for their depleted secondary group.
