The Houston Texans Sign Denzel Rice To The Practice Squad

The Houston Texans have added Denzel Rice to the practice squad.

With the Houston Texans signing Brandon Dunn off the practice squad to the 53-man roster they have filled his spot with cornerback Denzel Rice

Rice (6-0, 196 lbs.) is in his second season out of Costal Carolina and was signed as a rookie free agent after the 2015 NFL Draft. He was the only rookie free agent to make the Eagles 53-man roster in 2015. At Coastal Carolina he appeared in 50 games with 30 starts for Coastal Carolina and he ranks third in school history with 24 career pass breakups. He appeared in 4 games for the Eagles his rookie season and did not record a tackle in those games.

The Texans continue to add defensive backs due to the injuries that have hit the secondary, Rice serves as an insurance plan for a thin cornerback group on the 53-man roster.
