The Houston Texans have stayed patient with Lonnie Ballentine over the past three seasons and now he has been activated to the 53-man roster prior to Monday's Night's game with the Denver Broncos. The imposing safety returned to practice this week which was his first eligible week to practice for the season due to being on the PUP list.
Ballentine was drafted with the final selection of the 2013 NFL Draft and has been slowed by injuries his first two seasons in the NFL. Last season he injured his knee against the Jacksonville Jaguars which nearly took a full calendar year to heal and come back to 100 percent.
With Ballentine being added to the 53-man roster, the Texans have placed Kevin Johnson on the injured reserve ending his 2016 season.
