The Houston Texans have signed free agent offensive guard Josh Walker to their practice squad. This was after the Texans worked out three offensive linemen on Wednesday, including Andrew Gardner, Jeff Adams, and Walker. The Texans also signed Adams to the 53-man roster.
Walker played his college football at Middle Tennessee State and, after going undrafted, signed with the Indianapolis Colts during the 2014 season. Spending time on the Colts practice squad, Walker was then signed to the Green Bay Packers' practice squad, where he spent the remainder of his rookie season. In 2015, Walker appeared in 13 games for the Packers, playing right guard and tackle plus contributing on special teams. In 2016, Walker spent camp with the Packers but suffered an MCL injury during the preseason, landing him on the injured reserve prior to the start of the season.
After being released by the Packers with an injury settlement about a month ago, Walker has now been signed by the Texans to add depth to their practice squad.
