Former NFL great and current NFL Network analyst LaDainian Tomlinson offered his thoughts on the the AFC South on Monday, most notably about the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans, both of whom sit at 7-6 in the AFC South.
With the two teams tied at the top of the division, the Texans are sitting in a good spot, sitting at 4-0 in the division while the Titans are currently at 1-3. The contrast of those divisional records could prove the difference and the situation has caught the eye of Tomlinson.
“Now, the division is not great. The problem with Tennessee is they just won their first game in their own division; they haven’t learned how to win in their division yet,” said Tomlinson of the Titans.”They’re still learning how to win and to me, they win games one way—they have to run the ball in order to win.”
With the final stretch ahead and only three games remaining, Tomlinson likes what the Texans have done and expects them to close out the AFC South.
“I like the Texans. They have learned how to win in their own division, even though it’s not pretty. They have the best defense in that division and I just like what they’re able to do defensively,” Tomlinson added.
The Texans have the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals, and Tennessee Titans for their final three contests of the regular season, while the Titans finish up with the Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Texans.
