Texans Notebook: Jacksonville Week Opens and Injury Updates from Practice

Updates from the start of the Houston Texans work week for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Houston Texans opened their work week for the Jacksonville Jaguars and the team hit the field for the first time this week.

Notes from today’s open portion of practice.

Both Johnathan Joseph (ribs) and John Simon (chest) worked on the side field with trainers. Both statuses for Sunday are in doubt to play.

Tom Savage returned to practice after dealing with an elbow issue that he suffered prior to the Green Bay Packers game.

Tyler Ervin also returned to practice after missing three games with a rib injury he suffered against the Oakland Raiders.

Jeff Allen was not at practice due to being in the concussion protocol after suffering a concussion against the Indianapolis Colts. It is his season of the season and with his absence expect Xavier Su'a-Filo at left guard and Oday Aboushi at right guard.

C.J. Fiedorowicz did not practice the reason is currently unknown.

Brian Cushing was at practice but was not working with the team. He was with his position group but nothing looked out of the ordinary.
