Brennan Scarlett Designated to Return by the Houston Texans

The Houston Texans designated Brennan Scarlett to return from the injured reserve.

The Houston Texans have designated outside linebacker Brennan Scarlett to return from the injured reserve. Scarlett appeared in five games before injuring his hamstring and now with him returning, the Texans have 21-days to move him to the active roster. If the Texans do not activate him, Scarlett would head back to the injured reserve.

Scarlett was placed on the injured reserve after being injured on the first punt coverage play on Sunday Night football against the Indianapolis Colts. With injuries to the outside linebackers, the return of Scarlett could be coming at the right time.

Scarlett made the 53-man roster out of training camp as a rookie free agent and was only active for three games in 2016. Playing majority of the special teams units, Scarlett had three tackles and two tackles defensively for the season.
