Alfred Blue Breaks Down the Bengals

The Houston Texans depended on Alfred Blue to carry the running game and he did.

The Houston Texans opted to hold Lamar Miller out of a must win game for the AFC South championship and used Alfred Blue as their main back. Blue had 22 carries for 79 yards and scored the game clinching touchdown run of 24 yards.

Blue continues to build on a solid season while averaging a career high 4.4 yards per carry. Bill O’Brien likes what his home grown young running back has done in his three seasons as a Texan. Blue fits the mold of the 1st and 2nd down back, plugging away at defenses with tough runs.

“I think he’s a big back, a tough back. My first year here, we drafted Alfred and he’s had some really good games for us,” O’Brien remarked. “Maybe the stats don’t always look the greatest, but he’s a very tough runner, and what I think happens is the more you use him, he tends to wear the defense down after a while.”

On the season, Blue has 89 carries for 392 yards and 1 touchdown.
