The Houston Texans have met with Florida Gators Marcus Maye at the NFL Combine. With the Combine winding down, the Texans are closing up with interviews with the defensive back group collecting more information on the position group.
Maye with the Gators returned for his final year in 2016 and appeared in 9 games before suffering a shoulder injury that ended his season. The safety had 50 tackles and 6 pass breakups that led him to be named him All-SEC at the end of the season. His redshirt-junior season of 2015 saw Maye named 1st team All-American and ALL SEC for posting 82 tackles, 5 forced fumbles and 2 interceptions.
With the Texans need at safety the team will continue to search for youth to add to a safety position with question marks. Maye is considered a 3-4th round prospect to CBS Sports.com
