The Houston Texans have lost another defender in outside linebacker John Simon to the Indianapolis Colts. Simon inked a 3-year deal worth $17 million making the third defenders to leave to another team this off-season. Simon was added to the Texans in 2014 when he was signed off the Baltimore Ravens practice squad and instantly became a contributor on the field.
Simon was a rotational player that both played the run and pass well and racked up 8.5 sacks over the past two season. Simon spent the last three season with the Texans and appeared in 38 games but was injured late in the 2016 season with a pectoral injury keeping him out for the stretch run.
Simon had 75 total tackles and 10 sacks in his three seasons with the Texans.
