The Houston Texans to Cut Tony Bergstrom

The Houston Texans set to cut Tony Bergstrom after one season.

In the first transaction in nearly a month, the Houston Texans are set to cut offensive lineman Tony Bergstrom after one season. The Texans signed Bergstrom to a two year deal worth $5.75 million with $1.5 million guaranteed.

Bergstrom was scheduled to have a $3.25 million cap charge with a $2.625 million salary in 2017. With the release of Bergstrom the Texans with releasing Bergstrom will create a $2.875 million net cap savings leaving only $375,000 in dead money.

Bergstrom played one offensive snap in 2016 and helped on special teams.

Bergstrom is in his 6th season in the NFL after playing at Utah. He has appeared in 40 games in his career with 4 starts.
