Houston Texans DeAndre Hopkins Knows Deshaun Watson Would Like to Throw Him the Football

Houston Texans wide receiver knows Deshaun Watson will be fine in the NFL but wants him in Houston.

Reports that Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson is arriving this week to NRG Stadium for a pre-draft visit are out there and a certain Houston Texans wide receiver has his own thoughts on the Watson and what the Texans should do for the draft.

“I am Clemson guy, so I am little biased, but as an organization they know we who we need. More so than my biased opinion, as we say, who I want,” star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins said of Watkins.

Hopkins, a former Clemson standout, is not too worried about who would throw him the football.

“As long as they can get me the ball, I don’t care what name is on the back of the jersey, honestly,” Hopkins explained of the quarterback situation.  "As long as we are winning games, that is all that matters to me."

One of the Tigers' permanent team captains, Watson threw for 4,593 yards with 41 touchdowns and 17 interceptions over his collegiate career. Watson completed 67% of his passes this past season and 67.4% of his passes for his career. He is clearly the most decorated quarterback in this year’s draft, having received multiple awards for his accomplishments while compiling a 32-3 record in games he started.

“Wherever he goes, I know he will do fine,” Hopkins said of Watson. "He won Quarterback of the Year back-to-back and got snubbed of the Heisman; in my eyes, he is the Hesiman quarterback. We haven’t talked, we have mutual friends and I still have cousins who play at Clemson.”

“I am pretty sure he would like to throw me the football,” Hopkins said of Watson with a smile.

Watson agrees.
