The Housotn Texans have lost Director of Player Personnel Brian Gaine to the Buffalo Bills who will be the Vice President of Player Personnel. Gaine has be interviewed by the general manager positions of the San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears, Phildelphia Eagles and the Buffalo Bills before finally opting for the lateral move to the Bills.
“It’s generally a pretty lateral move, but Brian was excited about building this and starting this,” Bills General Manager Brandon Beane told Buffalobills.com. “I think partnering with me and Joe was attractive. I know Brian and who he is to the core and trust that he’s going to be a big time asset.”
With the Texans Gaine supervised all pro player evaluation, the advance scouting process, free agency and the monitoring of player transactional movement in all professional leagues while with the Texans. Gaine has worked for four different NFL clubs prior to his arrival in Buffalo, including division rivals Miami and New York. During his six years with the Dolphins he worked alongside Schoen and served his last two years as Assistant general manager (2012-2013).
