Recruiting continues for Killeen (Texas) Shoemaker defensive lineman Kerry Walker, who picked up his eighth offer on Wednesday night.

"I was informed that New Mexico State has offered me," he said via text.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound prospect had a big spring, also picking up offers from Houston, North Texas, Northern Illinois, Sam Houston State, Tennessee State, Texas State, and Utah State.

"I went to one of their camps and showed out...I guess that's what made NMSU offer."

Though he had been hearing from the Aggies, Walker says the offer still came as a surprise.

"They had been talking to me a little bit, but I didn't think they would offer. I went to one of their camps at Mary Hardin-Baylor and showed out and I guess that's what made them offer," he said.

Walker says the summer camping experience has been "great" and plans to take in a few more.

"I'm trying to go to Utah and Northern Illinois for the camps that are on their campuses," he said.
