Training Camp: Day 3

The third day of camp brought some interesting story lines and comments from the locker room.

The Tennessee Titans took to the practice field for day three of training camp, their first in full pads and several players showed up big today.

* Bernard Pollard got things started during the team stretching by calling out teammates, including Jake Locker and receiver Nate Washington. Pollard told the Locker and the other quarterbacks that he had a bet that the defense would get four picks during the practice, one from each quarterback.

* Pollard's defensive teammates helped him back up his prediction, as they did indeed cover the for interceptions, however they did not get one from each quarterback.

* Rookie undrafted corner back Winston Wright, from South Dakota State made a great play early in the team session breaking up a deep ball intended for Marc Mariani.

* Mariani continued to impress for the third day in a row, making three impressive catches with one a diving stretch that wowed the fans in attendance.

* Linebacker Jonathan Willard had the first big hit of the day as he laid a shot on Bishop Sankey on an inside run play.

* Kendall Wright had a great grab in traffic against rookie Marqueston Huff.

* The first scuffle of camp involved rookie linebacker Avery Williamson and tackle Michael Oher. Oher drove the rookie out on a nice block and then deposited him on the ground. The rookie showed some spunk by coming back at the veteran. Other players quickly stepped in.

* "It was just tempers flaring out there with big Michael," commented Williamson about his meeting with Oher. "You win some, you lose some."

* The Titans offense ran a reverse late in the team session to wide receiver Nate Washington. The biggest cheers for the play came from your truly, who haven't seen that play utilized here in a few years.

* Former Titans linebacker Keith Bulluck was in attendance at todays practice. During the 11-on-11 session, running back Jackie Battle leveled safety Akeem Smith with a crushing block to instantly comment, "Oh my God" in reaction to the battle block.

* Training camp quote of the day: From an unidentifed fan in the crowd who called Bernard Pollard "Captain Insano." A reference to Pollards play from the Adam Sandler movie, The Waterboy.
