Whisenhunt Jokes About Warmack's Weight

Chance Warmack posted a picture of his famous stomach earlier during the offseason. On Tuesday Ken Whisenhunt didn't miss the chance to pick on Warmack.

Chance Warmack has heard the discussions about his weight sine his college days at the University of Alabama. Those same discussions continued on Tuesday as the Titans wrapped up the first of three mandatory days of mini-camp at St. Thomas Sports Park.

Head coach Ken Whisenhunt was asked about Warmack’s weight following Monday’s physicals for all players as they reported for mini-camp.

”Really what I’m concerned about is his total weight,” added Whisehunt. “ He’s a little bit heavy right now, but he knows what his reporting weight is and last year he got to it that’s what the expectation is this year.

While not sounding concerned, Whisenhunt did not pass on the opportunity to joke with his young guard.

”I think really, to be honest with you, that whole picture of his stomach, that’s got to have been photo shopped,” laughed Whisenhunt following Tuesday’s practice.

”Just based of what I’ve seen, he can say hydrating all he wants but it looks like photo shop to me,” continued Whisenhunt.

When asked about his weight following practice, Warmack laughed at Whisenhunt’s suggestion it was photo shopped.

”He’s (Whisenhunt) been ripping me for that since I walked in here,” joked Warmack. He’s been giving me a hard time but those are real (abs) don’t’ be surprised if you see them again when I come back.”

In spite of his weight, Warmack finished 2014 playing the best football of his NFL career and expectations for the third year pro have increased dramatically for the former first round pick.

”It’s always the weight,” laughed Warmack.

”I’m just trying to move fast out on the field and be the best guard and player I can be,” said Warmack. “I’m not really worried about my weight right now. I’ve been moving pretty good during OTA’s and today, but of course I’m going to get it down (weight).”

”I know this is a job and everybody has responsibilities and to be accountable,” concluded Warmack.

Entering year three, Warmack is being counted on to continue his improvement. If he can do that, the fortunes of the Titans line will hopefully follow along this season.
