The Tennessee Titans are in good shape physically as they prepare to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday in Tampa. As of Thursday only two of the Titans 53 man active roster were listed on the first injury report of the week.
Both cornerback Jason McCourty (groin) and defensive nose tackle Sammie Hill (knee) were on the report and both have been ruled out for Sunday's contest.
While both players being out hurts the Titans, it is McCourty whose absence is the most concerning to the team. Coty Sensabaugh will likely start in place of McCourty, while Al Woods who had one of the best training camps of any Titans player will replace Hill.
Sensabaugh will likely see more than his share of passes in his direction from the Tampa offense, but he too could benefit from a Tampa injury.
Buccaneers star receiver Mike Evans is hampered by a hamstring injury and missed practice on Wednesday. If he is unable to go Sunday, that could benefit Sensabaugh and the Titans in eliminating the top receiveing target for Tampa and making it somewhat easier in coverage.
There is no official word on Evans status, and it could come down to a gametime decision as to his availability.
