The Carolina Panthers entered Sunday's matchup with the Tennessee Titans with an undefeated 8-0 record. They left with another win to improve their record to 9-0 for the season. The Titans hung close in the first half, but Cam Newton and his offensive mates methodically pulled away with a goond second half to win easily 27-10.
For the Titans it was the tenth consecutive loss inside Nissan Stadium dating back to October 12, 2014 when the Titans defeated Jacksonville on a last second blocked field goal by Sammie Hill to preserve the win.
Carolina struck firzt in the first half when Jonathan Stewart broke free for a 16 yard touchdown run to put the Panthers on top 7-0 with the Graham Gano extra point.
Following another slow start, Marcus Mariota and the Titans offense would finally find a rhythm late in the first quarter as a 10 play 82 yard drive culminated in a 25 yard Dexter McCluster touchdown run to tie the game at 7-7 following Ryan Succop's point after touchdown was good.
Newton and the anthers would add another touchdown in the second quarter when Newton connected with tight end Ed Dickson on a one yard toPss to give Carolina a 14;- advantage.
The Titans would add a field goal midway through the second quarter when Succop connected from 45 yards to trim the Carolina lead to 14-10 at the intermission.
The second half however would beling to Carolina.
A third quarter 48 yard field goal by Gano would be all the scoring in that quarter, giving Carolina a 17-10 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.
Carolina would add a touchdown in the fourth on a one-yard Newton sneak to give the Panthers a 27-10 win and improve their record to 9-0 while the Titans fall to 2-7.
The Titans will face a short week as they must travel to Jacksonville for a Thursday night matchup with the Jaguars.
