The strength of the Titans defense has been their front seven, and in particular the linebackers who are at the top of the NFL in sacks.

The Tennessee Titans linebackers have gotten to the quarterback a lot this season. So much in fact that the team's linebacker corps ranks third in the league.

In last week’s game against Carolina, the Tennessee Titans linebackers accounted for three of the team’s season-high five sacks. Brian Orakpo and Wesley Woodyard each notched a solo sack, while Avery Williamson and David Bass shared a sack.

As a group, the Titans linebackers have accumulated 17 of the club’s 27 total sacks through nine games. Orakpo, an outside linebacker in the team’s 3-4 scheme, leads the team with six sacks. Outside linebackers Derrick Morgan (4.5) and Bass (0.5) and inside linebackers Woodyard (four), Williamson (1.5) and Zach Brown (0.5) also have contributed to the total.

The Titans linebackers rank third among NFL linebacker corps. The Denver Broncos linebackers rank first with 20 sacks, followed by 18.5 sacks by the Green Bay Packers.
