Kern has been one of the best players for the Titans this season in a role that doesn't always get recognized.

Brett Kern has been really good this season for the Titan, and he is close to an amazing NFL feat.

Brett Kern had one of the top performances of his career last week, punting nine times for an average of 47.4 yards per punt (43.3 net average). He also placed seven punts inside the 20—a team record that tied for the third-highest total in any NFL game since 1976—without having any punts go into the end zone for a touchback.

Kern has a chance to finish the 2015 season with a rare feat, showing his prowess for placing punts inside the 20. He has 82 total punts this season with only one touchback (Oct. 11 against Buffalo). If he does not record a touchback this week, he will become only the third punter since 1976 to punt at least 80 times in a season with one or zero touchbacks.

The previous two punters to accomplish the feat are Sav Rocca (2013) and Brad Maynard (2011).

Kern’s net punting average for the season is 39.9 yards. If he can raise it this week to 40.0, he will be the first punter in history with 80 or more punts, one or zero touchbacks, and a net average of 40 yards. NFL punters with 80 or more punts and no more than one touchback (since 1976):
