One-year deal adds veteran presence to the quarterback unit.

The Tennessee Titans have signed veteran quarterback Matt Cassel to a one-year deal.

The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Matt Cassel, according to multiple sources.

Cassel spent the 2015 season with Dallas, serving as the backup to Tony Romo until taking over following an injury to Romo. Cassel started seven games for the Cowboys, winning one before being replaced as the starter.

Cassel, now 33 years old,  finished the season completing 119 of 204 passes for 1,276 yards, with five touchdown passes and seven interceptions.

The Titans are the newest team for Cassel, who has spent time on the rosters of the Cowboys, Bills, Vikings, Chiefs and Patriots.
