Today I confirmed that the talented and personable defensive end completed a visit with the 49ers on Monday. And today he was in New Orleans to meet with the Saints, a team that just recently started showing stronger interest.
But get this, according to one of my NFL sources, Raiders owner Al Davis called Alama-Francis' agent today to find out if he was available for a visit. That's right, Al Davis, not one of the coaches or the GM. When he was told that Alama-Francis was in New Orleans, David arranged a visit for this Friday in Oakland.
The Raiders would have to use their second-round pick, No. 33 overall to secure the defensive end as numerous teams are projected to grab him in the second round, including Cleveland at No. 35.
Brown University linebacker Zak DeOssie told me during a recent interview that he'd be visiting the Giants this week. He was in New York on Tuesday. He also had a personal workout with the Eagles.

He also told me that the night before his Pro Day at Boston College, he had dinner with the linebackers coach from Cleveland. And during the day, he sat down with the Bengals so they could get to know him better.
DeOssie had two formal interviews at the Combine, one with the Jets and the other with the Bears. Be sure to keep an eye out for my exclusive interview with Zak this weekend.
While talking to Oklahoma linebacker Rufus Alexander for his upcoming interview feature at Scout.com, he confirmed that he's had one personal workout with the New England Patriots. And at the Combine, he had formal interviews with the Colts, Jaguars, Texans, Titans and the Broncos.
San Jose State wide receiver James Jones plans on visiting the 49ers this Friday when they host local athletes, and he's also planning on working out for them while he's there. The Rams' flew their assistant head coach to San Jose to conduct a personal workout on Wednesday.
Central Florida's Mike Walker has been a busy guy over the past month. I previously reported that he had worked out for the Chiefs, Texans and Jets. And then he had visits with the Chargers, Colts, Rams and Titans.
In my April 16th edition of the NFL Draft Buzz, I told you that New Orleans requested a visit, which he completed today. But Walker won't be heading home quite yet. I learned that he'll be visiting with the Miami Dolphins on Friday to wrap up his tour of prospective NFL employers.
At the Combine, Walker had formal interviews with Atlanta, Jacksonville, Buffalo, Houston, Kansas City and San Diego.
